About Us

Hate Crimes India (HCI) is a leading tracker and aggregator that documents the incidents of hate and violence against members of India’s religious minorities, especially Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs.

Amid a hate crime epidemic targeting minorities under the Hindu supremacist rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the need for a publicly available resource documenting hate incidents has never been greater. HCI seeks to address this need by becoming the first US-based hate tracker that documents targeted attacks against members of religious minorities in India.

As a tool of advocacy, HCI aims to usher international awareness about the immense persecution of minorities and advocate for policies that reinforce religious freedoms and human rights protections.

The project is owned and managed by the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC), a Washington DC based advocacy organization dedicated to social justice, peace, and pluralism in India and the United States.
