A Maulana was assaulted by a police official for having a defective number plate on his two-wheeler. The cop dragged him inside the police station, beat him with a stick 25-30 times and threatened him with a gun. He was kept there for an hour and then made to pay a fine of Rs 500 and then let go. The Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machindra apologized for the atrocity and said appropriate action will be taken against the cop.
