A 22 year old man named Salman lost his right hand due to the brutal tortured he faced in the police custody. He was detained illegally in Varthur police station for three days for the suspicion of theft and he had to undergo an amputation surgery for his right arm. The arm was infected after he was allegedly beaten severely in police custody. He was tied upside down and beaten badly. He was released on October 31.
