Mob lynches three Muslims over alleged cattle theft

Three Muslim ypuths were lynched by the villagers on suspicion of cattle theft in Khowai in Tripura. The incident took place before dawn. Two of the victims were tied and beaten up while the other one was chased and beaten to death. These youth were allegedly transporting cattle in a mini truck when they were intercepted by the mob in Maharanipur. Saiful Islam managed to flee the scene but was caught in Mungiakami village. Police recovered the victims from both the spots and shifted them to GBP hospital in Agartala where they were declared dead. The CPI condemned the incident and demanded a probe.
