Interfaith couple cancels marriage after threats

A man and woman from different faiths had to cancel their wedding after being threatened. The wedding was scheduled for July 18. However it had to be cancelled because of the immense pressure from social media defining the wedding as ‘Love Jihad’. The controversy got triggered after the wedding invitation card was shared in a WhatsApp group. Several social workers and politicians came out in support of the couple. Once it was made clear that this not love jihad or forced conversion, the couple got married according to the Hindu and Muslim rituals.
