Muslim community attacked in Varanasi

A brutal physical assault took place in Barwa, Varanasi for which the members of Konia Civil Society demanded a thorough and fair investigation. A group of goons backed by the local police had attacked people from a nearby Muslim locality. A group of leaders had condemned the police for allegedly supporting the group. The group had been doing illegal trade of liquor for about 12 years. The police had been telling the victims to take the complaint back and to come to a settlement, by compromising instead of taking strict actions against the culprits.
