A Muslim cleric Mohammad Sufiuddin was assaulted by Right Wing Hindus for not chanting Jai Shri Ram. He was going to the masjid at about 3:45 am on his bicycle when he was intercepted by 3 youths on a motorcycle at Chawkbazar More. He conveed to them politely that he is from a different religion and requested to not be forced to say that. Upon hearing this, one of the youths immediately slapped him hard and it caused him to fall down from his bicycle. The youth fled away. Sufiuddin registered a complaint against the perpetrators at the local police station.
