Delhi police thrash Muslim man for calling 100

An uncontrollable fight broke out in the area where Wasim lived and looking at the gravity of the situation, he called the police helpline number 100 to report the fight. The police came and dispersed the fight. They then knocked on Wasim’s door and asked him to come to the police station late at night along with five others, two of them were also people who were trying to call the police. The police took them to the police station and separated Waseem. They beat Waseem brutally in the police station. They even hurled anti-Muslim slurs and threatened him to never call the helpline number again. They even said that “You Mullahs have created a nuisance” referring to his identity as a Muslim. Waseem suffered injuries on his spine and was treated in the hospital when the pain didn’t subside. They registered a complaint at a different police station but no action was taken against the culprits.
