Communal violence in Meerut

A man named Ashraf was beaten up for objecting to people “gambling” Jagmohan Nagar locality. He lodged a complaint with the police. By the evening, the matter had escalated as a local MLA and a few goons took matter into their own hands and attacked the rivals armed with rods and sticks. Violence broke out while the outnumbered police called for backup, a video had also surfaced.
