Madrasa Teachers Turned Out of Guesthouse
2020-09-21
A group of 10 madrasa teachers hailing from Malda were denied accommodation at a guesthouse they had booked earlier and paid in advance for. On arrival they were taken to a guest house different from what they actually booked. After making them wait for 3 hours at an assembly point they were then asked to suddenly leave because of their religious identity objected by some neighbors. The teachers were forced to take shelter under the East-West Metro viaduct (the ground below the overhead tracks) near Bikash Bhavan. Three employees havd been arrested on the charge of discrimination against guests on religious grounds.
