Four Tablighi Jamaat Members Attacked

On their way to a funeral in another village, the victims’ car broke down. Two men arrived from nowhere on a bike and began verbally abusing them and their Muslim community and pulled their beards and skull caps. The victims tried to avoid the situation but the two men called six more people and began physically assaulting the victims with bricks and sticks. They recall the men saying that the victims did not deserve to live in India and said “You don’t deserve to live in India“. The victims suffered injuries on their chest and head. The incident lasted for 40 minutes and police arrived an hour later. An FIR had been registered and two out of eight perpetrators were arrested.
