While working on paddy fields at the Indo-Bangladesh border, the company commander summoned him and beat him up with sticks while verbally abusing him saying “We will send you to Bangladesh after NRC… just wait.” Saddam was consequently denied his documents, and was told to complain to anybody, even the NHRC as it will not affect the perpetrators.
