Muslim youths thrashed by Mob over animals

Wasim and Mubin were on their way back to Malegaon when they found themselves surrounded by people on a blocked road. They were attacked, tied to a bush and beaten for one and a half hours with thick sticks. They suffered injuries on their hands and feet. They were even asked to raise the slogan “Jai Sri Ram” on suspicion of animal theft. They were rescued by the police, given medical treatment and treated well, however, soon after they were arrested under section 11(1)(g), (h), (d), (k) of Cruelty to Animal Act 1960 along with section 5d of Maharashtra Preservation Act. A video went viral of the incident, FIR was registered against 19 villagers and around 100 unknown people. Some arrests were made on 26th July.
