Mosque vandalized, muezzin among 3 attacked

In a village in UP, 3 people were attacked on Sunday evening for calling out the Azan on the loudspeakers at a mosque during lockdown. Among the injured men, one was the muezzin, a person who recites the azan, of the mosque, Abdul Rahman. Sonu Ali and his father Azmat Ali were injured during the processes of trying to catch hold of the perpetrators within the mosque. The perpetrators vandalized the mosque and escaped the premises. Later when the case was to be filed the police authorities asked both parties to reach a compromise instead of punishing the perpetrators. The injured individuals were admitted into primary health center, Dhebra, under Sikriganj police station.
