Communal Tension arises while people prayed

Mumbai: After Isha prayers, a masjid faced stone-pelting for the first time while Maharashtra was under state lockdown because to Covid-19. Stone-throwers said that they were doing so because temples were forbidden from allowing congregational prayers, but masjids were allowing them. Fighting continued until it reached such a point that it took five rounds of gunfire from the police to disperse the crowd, following which the entire area was barricaded. Following the burning of vehicles near the masjid, a two-day curfew was put in place. It must be emphasised that the government had ordered a lockdown before the gathering, and this was viewed as a defiance of the order. Five people were injured in the process.
