Pregnant Muslim women mercilessly beaten by cops

24 Feb 2020 Delhi: Rubina Bano, a local of Chand Bagh in Delhi, described her struggle. Bano reported in a first-person narrative that she was brutally assaulted by male police officers with lathis and batons. She claimed to have heard about the disturbance but had merely left the house to pick up her daughter, who was taking her board examinations, from school. Bano was three months pregnant at the time of the incident. She claimed that a group of police officers and an irate mob accosted her as she was making her way to the school. Due to her pregnancy, Bano begged the rioters and police to release her, but she claimed that the guys refused.
