Muslim Man Lynched In West Bengal, Two Others Badly Beaten

Kabir Sheikh, 32, was allegedly lynched to death by villagers in the Lalbagh neighbourhood of Baharampur town in Murshidabad after they accused him of “intruding” and attacked them "with chairs" on the premises of a polyclinic. Later, the body of Sheikh, with his hands and legs rope-tied, was found on the shop's balcony. At Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital, he was declared dead. Another incident in the state's Alipurduar district had seven people being detained for reportedly attempting to lynch two people on Tuesday night in the village of Beniapara, which is under the Rajgunj police station. There are two children and a wife left behind by Kabir Sheikh.
