Right wing hindutva group attacks youth

Around 4:30 on Sunday morning, Umar Farooq was driving a tempo goods vehicle carrying mango fruits from Ulaibettu to Mangalore market. Three Sangh Parivar miscreants reportedly approached on a bike and intercepted the tempo when it got close to Kulashekar Silvergate. The perpetrators enquired as to whether the cow was being carried via the cargo tempo with Umar Farooq. Mangoes were being transported in the car, Farooq responded. They then took Farooq out of the car after abusing him about his religion. The car's driver, Ashfaq, saw what was happening and ran for safety, but Farooq was not so lucky and was not able to protect himself. As a result, the criminals attacked him with a sword and an iron rod. The victim sustained serious injuries on his leg, hand, and back. He was rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore for the treatment.
