Muslim youths thrashed, forced to chant Jai Shri Ram in Assam

The incident happened in Barpeta town's Jyoti Gaon neighborhood close to the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital. Rakibul Haque, Burhan Ali, and Kurban Khan were working at Khan Medical Store when four people in two motorcycles arrived at 1 am on Friday and beat them up. Wajed Ali, Secretary of the West Barpeta Traders' Association, who had filed a FIR in this regard, claimed that the group was also made to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ “The crimes had absolutely no justification because the three young people were employed at the pharmacy. The four miscreants also verbally harassed Rakibul and attempted to throttle him to death. However, a few locals gathered there while Burhan and Kurban screamed for assistance forcing the miscreants to flee without the motorcycles,” Wajed Ali said in the FIR.
