The incident happened on Monday at around 6 p.m. in Lonavala when tourists from a Muslim family from Vadodara, Gujarat, visited a hill resort close to Mumbai. They were subjected to this degrading treatment because of a small disagreement regarding the price of the horseback ride at Tiger's Point in Lonavala. When visitors requested horseback rides, the horseman demanded more payment than was agreed upon and started insulting the family. They were suddenly attacked savagely by numerous horsemen who suddenly appeared nearby. The activist Zuber Gopalani, a relative who hurried to the scene of the incident after the attack to aid the family, claimed that "They battered male relatives, molested women, and grabbed their pocketbook and mobiles." The reports also stated that the local police originally declined to register an FIR, but when the event had gone on for five hours, when the tension had grown, she submitted a complaint. But so far, there have been arrests related to the incident.
