Muslim youth lynched on suspicion of theft

All Manipur Muslim Development Committee (AMMDC) has condemned the incident of mob justice where three Muslim youths on July 20 on suspicion of vehicle theft where one of the victim had also lost his life. In a statement issued today, AMMDC said the three youths Hafiz Riyashad (22), s/o Md Mani Khan; Md Zamir Khan (25), s/o Md Majid Ali and Md Ajmir (22), s/o Md Samsul Haque of Sabal Khunou were inhumanely beaten by the locals for allegedly lifting vehicles. Hafiz Riyashad was killed in the mob lynching. AMMDC said there are proper Judicial set-up in the country to punish those involved in crime, the act of mob justice and lynching goes clearly against the mandate of a 'Democratic' country and those involved should be punished. The statement also added that this is not the first time such an incident has happened. AMMDC also raised the question if India will continue to be a democratic country when such heinous and inhumane crimes are allowed to happen regularly.
