Men beaten up and forced to chant Jai Shri Ram

Some Muslim youths were beaten in Barpeta, Assam. They were travelling in an autorickshaw when they were stopped by 15-20 members of a right wing group called Ram Sena. They were forced to utter the slogans ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, and ‘Pakistan Murdabad’. An FIR was filed against the right wing group by All Assam Minority Students’ Union (AAMSU) and North East Minorities Students’ Union (NEMSU). The incident came into light when the video of the incident went viral on the internet which was shot by the attackers themselves. Congress MP from Barpeta to the superintendent of police to take action in the incident. Police arrested one of the accused.
