The police got a tip-off about a mini truck heading towards Ramgarh with cattle and they set up a barricade. Zakir’s vehicle broke through the barricade and sped off. The villagers spotted the truck and attacked the men inside it. Two of them managed to escape while Zakir was caught by the mob. Police registered a case against the accused for cow smuggling and firing at the cops. They said they’d register a case against the villagers if Zakir chose to file the complaint.
