Communal tension erupted in Kankhal, Haridwar after the death of a 34 year old man whose body was found near the railway tracks in Raiwala. The shops of the minority community were vandalized and set ablaze by right wing groups. The shop owners were also threatened by the attackers to leave the area. The police registered a case against the mischief makers. Section 144 of CrPC was imposed and a warning was given to the locals.
