Communal clash in Aurangabad

A riot broke out in Aurangabad over disconnecting an illegal water connection. Many shops and vehicles were set ablaze in the riot. Two people lost their lives and around 50 people got injured in the incident including a dozen police officers. Police had to use tear gas, batons, and plastic bullets to control the situation. Around 120 people became the victims in this incident. Units of Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) and State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) were deployed. Section 144 was imposed.
