Violence broke out in Raniganj during the celebration of Ram Navami. Many people got injured including several police personnel. Police had to fire rounds in the air and also use tear gas to control the violent crowd. A Rapid Action Force was deployed to help the police control the situation. BJP state women’s wing head Locket Chatterjee was booked for allegedly carrying a trident in the rally. Stones were pelted and there were blasts and bullets were fired during the violence. 10 police personnel and 30 civilians got injured in the attack.
