UP muslim lands in jail for meeting a Dalit girl

A Muslim minor was arrested in a UP village for hanging out with a minor Dalit girl. They were taken to the police station after the girl’s father had filed a complaint. Unbeknownst to the girl the religion of the boy, her father made a complaint. But the police exaggerated the matter saying that the suspect is guilty of forced conversion and marriage. These claims were denied by the girl’s father and also the girl. The girl and the boy were old classmates. The police also put charges of abduction on the boy while the duo hung out at their own free will. The police tried to convince the father of the girl that the boy would forcely convert the girl in future for marriage and that is why he should mention ‘forced conversion and elopement.’
