Four local males were arrested by the Gurugram police today on suspicion of opening fire on a mosque in the Dhankot village yesterday. The suspects were apprehended after the police carried out a raid after receiving information that they were hiding at the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) water facility on Basai Road. The accused admitted their guilt to the authorities, claiming they wished to eliminate "Jamaatis" from this mosque because they were allegedly distributing COVID-19. Five days previously, as part of a series of raids around the state, the police had evacuated the mosque belonging to a group of Tablighi Jamaat members and placed them in quarantine. Vinod (40), Pawan nicknamed Fighter (41), Aalam Khan (39), and Harkesh were named as the defendants (18).
