Kashmiri students arrested after beef rumours

4 Kashmiri students were beaten by the university students in the hostel. The incident happened in Mewar University, Rajasthan. Some miscreants spread the rumour that the Kashmiris are cooking beef in their room. The students were dragged out and beaten. Other Kashmiri students who live in the campus and nearby came to the spot and started clashing. The number of the Kashmiris in the area is vast. Some religious groups also came into the university and started raising slogans. Police intervened and took the situation under control. A meat shop near the university was also burnt down. The four Kashmiri students were arrested under section 151 of the IPC. They were questioned about bringing the meat to the hostel room. The meat found was sent for forensic research for confirmation.
