Communal tension erupted in Sector 9 in Noida near a mosque adjacent to the havan kund where a trident was found damaged. A common podium was built near the Chatai-Wali mosque to be used by the members of both the communities. Later some Hindus wanted to raise the podium by 3 feet and made it exclusively for the Hindus. The puja was performed on thursday night at the havan kund but the next morning the trident was found to be bent. The members of VHP and Bajrang Dal staged a protest near the podium. Around 200 police personnel were deployed to keep the situation peaceful.
