In Pichkaura when Komal came forward with the news that she is married to Salman, a muslim man, tension grew in the area. Several Right WIng Hindu groups started to protest against this marriage. They even tried to convince Komal to return back to her family. In fear of attack from Komal's family or the right wing group, Salman's family fled the village. All 24 members fled the village. Thier homes were torched with a warning given prior that they should hand over the boy and girl within 2 hours, and that they shouldn't intervene after that otherwise they will be killed.
