Dispute over Rs 100 turned into communal violence

A minor dispute took place between a barber and a customer as the customer owed money to the barber. But this turned ugly as both of them called their community members and it became a communal clash. The customer, Chotey Lal allegedly barged into the house of the barber, lit it on fire, tried to sexually assault his wife and looted her belongings along with 10-14 men. The barber, Anwar, called his relatives who came on the motorbikes. Their bikes were burnt and some shops were also set on fire in the area. Police arrested some people who were allegedly the members of Bajrang Dal, VHP and RSS. Section 144 was imposed. Three people were injured and were taken for treatment. An FIR was lodged against 20 people.
