Dimapur rape and mob lynching

A Muslim man who allegedly raped a girl was sent to prison by the police officials. But the crowd was not going to sit idle. The crowd became violent and raided the local jail. They took hold of the man Farid, and took him outside. He was paraded and beaten to death. He was also accused of being a Bangladeshi immigrant. The mob also damaged a few police vehicles. Section 144 of CrPC was brought into effect. Internet was shut down in the area. Police arrested 14 people involved in the incident
