30 injured in clash near Mangalore after Hindu convention

A communal violence broke out near Mangalore. A Hindu convention was set to happen and Hindus in large numbers had gathered. The leaders of VHP and RSS delivered provocative speeches which instigated the Hindus. They attacked a local mosque in Puttur. They even attacked the imam of the mosque. They also set several Muslim owned shops on fire. However, South Karnataka convener of the Bajrang Dal said that they were attacked first by the local Muslims. Popular Front India called for a district wide strike in the region regarding the incident. 30 people were injured. No cases were booked against the leaders of RSS and VHP for provocative speeches as no complaints were received by the police. A case of rioting was booked
