Rumors of beef in temple sparks communal tension

A rumour spread in Kishanganj that a severed head of a cow was thrown in front of a temple. People got enraged over this and the news spread like wildfire. The group forced the shops to shut down. They jammed the NH-31 and also the railway track. They even damaged some vehicles and set them ablaze. Additional security forces along with police were deployed. Curfew was imposed in the area. Around 5 people got injured. Police had arrested 7 people
