Some VHP members informed the police of an alleged cow slaughter. The police along with the Gau Rakshaks came to the village. They caught a youth carrying mutton in gunny bags. The villagers got angry and started pelting stones on the police. 3 policemen got injured. In return they opened firing. Two persons were injured from the firing. The injured were taken to Yashfin hospital in Navsari. The villagers managed to release the boy from the police. 12 men were arrested by the police.
