Three youth were assaulted while transporting cattle. The incident took place near Pumpwell, Mangalore. The vigilantes were in an inebriated state and were shouting Jai Shri Ram. They dragged the trio out of the vehicle and beat them with sticks and batons. They punched and kicked the youth in all the sensitive parts. One of the youth suffered multiple fractures and deep wounds and had to be admitted in ICU. The were beaten mercilessly until the police arrived at the spot. Police arrested three peole from the spot. A case was registered
