Violence in Mewat-Tauru

A Hindu man died after being mowed down by a high speed dumper truck. His friend was who was riding pillion on the bike was injured. The mob caught hold of the driver and the cleaner of the truck. Instead of handing them over to the police, the mob thrashed them badly. Police rescued the duo and admitted them in AIIMS trauma centre. Rumour spread that the pillion rider also died. The mob went on a rampage in the nearby market. They burnt the shops and the vehicles. The police had to fire tear gas shells to control the situation. Curfew was imposed in the area.
