Pune techie murdered by Hindutva mob

A Muslim IT worker was murdered. The incident happened in Pune, Maharashtra. A few days ago there were some offensive images of Shivaji and Bal Thackerey circulated on social media. Tension grew in the area. Sadiq Shaikh was returning from dinner where he was waylaid by the members of Hindu Rashtra Sena. They beat him to death. 21 people were arrested including the leader of the group. The other members said that the leader told them in a meeting a day ago to do something big in retaliation to the offensive posts. However, all of them were subsequently released on bail except their leader. The leader was released on conditional bail in 2019.
