A Muslim cleric was beaten in a bus. He was travelling to Muzaffarnagar. Members of the Jat community allegedly beat him. He was punched and kicked. They assaulted him for his clothing and appearance. The other passengers and the driver intervened and the men deboarded the bus at Bhaju village. The cleric was taken to the hospital for treatment. There was a protest at Shahpur police station. Four of the accused were arrested.
