A scuffle broke out over the repair of the platform under a banyan tree. The incident happened in a village in Azamgarh. The platform was being repaired and at the same place a HIndu idol was used to be put. Members of one community beat a person who tried stopping the repair of the platform. Then members of the other community beat the ones who were repairing the platform. Then it turned violent and someone opened fired. One man died and another was critically injured because of bullet wounds. Later a dozen shops and a couple of vehicles were torched too. Security officials rushed to the place to control the situation.
