Clash on Durga idol immersion lead to migration

Violence broke out during a procession from four or five villages to Khaira Bazar for the immersion of a Durga deity. According to reports, during the unrest, Muslim homes and businesses were intentionally damaged in front of police, to the point where practically all Muslim families in the neighbourhood had to leave. On October 20, the majority of the men and young ladies left the village, and they haven't come back yet. Three times since that day, police have stormed, threatened, destroyed, and damaged the homes with only male staff, even in homes with only elderly ladies and little children still inside. The study further stated that the police activity had terrorised the people while also violating their legal rights. The police booked close to 200 Muslims under the draconian UAPA in connection with a clash
