A brawl between groups of Indian and Afghan students at a private university in Greater Noida resulted in the beating of a Kashmiri student, forcing police to detain over 350 students for rioting and associated offences, according to officials. Other Indian students who allegedly posted aggressive messages on a WhatsApp group on behalf of the Afghan students participating in the incident on Monday roughed up an Indian student from Kashmir. These Indian students reportedly felt resentful at the university's careless handling of the situation, a top police official informed PTI. "The police have independently taken cognizance of the case. The Indian student was sent for treatment despite just having minor injuries from punches and slaps so that it could be checked if there is any internal injury or not" the police official told PTI.
