Two Muslim youths were allegedly beaten up over the allegation of cow smuggling in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. The members of the Gau Raksha Dal spotted a vehicle transporting cattle and they stopped it. The men in the vehicle didn’t have any proper documentation regarding the purchase of the animals. This made the mob angry. They took out the men out of the vehicle and started thrashing them. Then they took them to the police station. The police arrested the leader of the group Anuj Bansal and sent him to jail in connection with the alleged attack.
