An elderly man was attacked on the suspicion that he was smuggling cattle ( cows) . A communally motivated group of people that call themselves ‘Gau Rakshaks’ were responsible for the attack. A rumor began after the attack that the victim had died due to the injuries he sustained. This caused religious tensions to grow within the village. The victim was alive in a severely injured state. The police did a satisfactory job by arresting the perpetrators.
